Stress is becoming more and more of a problem in the lives of many. Across the board in the different industries and walks of life, the demands are increasing and can be overbearing to manage. Health, productivity, and quality of life can be impacted by stress. Stress is triggered by the demands or challenges that supersede one’s coping abilities. How to Recognize if You Are Overstressed?

Stress impacts both mental and physical health. Paying attention to the following signals your body is giving is important in recognizing and indicate to you that you need to take a step back:

  • Muscle tensions

  • Rapid heart rate and breathing

  • Headaches and stomach aches

  • Feeling overly tired

  • Withdrawal from others

  • Drinking more coffee

  • Fidgeting

  • Lack of patience

  • Worry and confused

  • Increased anger and irritability

  • Trouble concentrating

  • Racing thoughts

  • Decrease in self-confidence

  • Negative thoughts
